For the last many years, a great campaign was launched by Shama NGO and its members and little children under the alias of ‘Safai ke Sipahi’(Cleanliness Warriors) against filth and waste, in which the common people were made aware of the harms of waste. Our ‘Safai ke Sipahi’ along with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Government and other government departments strive to fight the war against waste .
The Swachh Vidyalaya Programme was launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under Swachh Bharat Mission. The programme aims to provide separate toilets for boys and girls in all government schools within one year.
Through awareness campaigns, awareness rallies, street plays, painting competitions, distribution of dustbins and knocking on every door by making small children as cleanliness soldiers by Shama NGO prevention of common citizens from spreading dirt and disposing of garbage properly was done. The NGO inspired them to reflect the Swachh Bharat Mission on the ground.
Shama NGO along with Jafrabad RW organized many workshops to make the Swachh Bharat Mission a success by taking a pledge with the officials, employees of the administration and creating awareness among the people about cleanliness. A pledge was taken to fight against filth through new methods and this awareness campaign is going on even at present.
‘Cleanliness’. One feels pristine just thinking about the word. Laughter invigorates the mind. The foundation of the School does the honorable errand of teaching this propensity for adoring magnificence as tidiness. The first step on the path to prosperity in India is cleanliness. In addition to taking care of our bodies and minds, we must also take care of our surroundings.
We also worked to promote the participation of the public and the government administration to establish the Swachh Bharat Mission on the ground, to make our country clean, by organising rallies, seminars, public awareness campaigns and national festivals, from time to time, all the while saluting the flag of our country. An oath was also taken regally.
