The Foundation of Shama Educational and Polytechnic Society was laid at a time when India was burning in the fire of 1992 riots, whose flames spread to Delhi as well, the Welcome area of North East Delhi was also not untouched by this, at the time of this harrowing event, there was a need to maintain peace among the people, just then, Mirza Shahid, founder of Shama NGO and all the members of the society, including Akram Baig, Salim Qureshi, Irshad Qureshi, Moinuddin, Waqeel-ur- Rehman, Mukeemuddin, and others took their convoy from Inder Lok area of Delhi and reached Welcome area of North East district of Delhi where ration, clothes, medicines and essential items were distributed among the people suffering from curfew as a form of help. With this effort, the journey for the welfare of people, progression of the country, brotherhood, peace-keeping and helping the weak started. In this journey, many works have been done to uplift the lives of the poor, destitute, uneducated, women, children, dalits, minorities and every section of the society and continuously our group marches forward by working on the principle of “Awami Khidmat” (Humantarian services). Dr. Faheem Baig, General Secretary of Shama NGO, has been working continuously to help the people and has achieved success in his good intentions of the Shama NGO. He has taken all types of welfare schemes of the government to the people. Through this Souvenir, some small efforts are being presented. In this journey of success and humanity, many companions supported us by helping us in this journey i this era of 25 years. These 25 years are not the destination but the beginning of the journey that you and we together with the country are sure to embark on. This journey will continue tirelessly for progress, mutual brotherhood and to take our great country India to impressive heights in the whole world. In this Souvenir, the friends, helpers and patrons of Shaman NGO have bestowed their blessings on this journey of human good.
